Job Description

We are looking for a Manager, HR Business Partner that aligns business objectives with organizational and talent needs. The Manager, HR Business Partner will provide support to senior leaders, managers and employees in our organization. The Manager, HR Business Partner understands the business needs and overall strategy & goals, culture, challenges and competition. The Manager, HR Business Partner collaborates with the HR Centers of Excellence (COEs) and HR team to deliver value added service and support to management and employees that reflect the business objectives of the organization.  The ideal candidate will be passionate, have a sense of urgency for execution as well as natural curiosity and willingness to take risks, and have the ability to creatively problem solve and look at human resources in new and different ways.

Principal Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Provide responsive support to employees with questions and issues
  • Partners with leaders to drive a high performing culture
  • Provide guidance and input on talent acquisition, total rewards, performance management, career mobility, and other talent development and retention activities
  • Rolls out corporate-wide HR initiatives to client groups such as training, compensation planning, talent assessment, and engagement initiatives
  • Partners with HR Centers of Excellence to support business needs in areas such as learning and development and rewards and manages all employment-related processes
  • Improve manager capability through coaching and implementation of management development programs and opportunities
  • Provides expert coaching and advice to managers and employees and assist in resolving complex employee relations issues
  • Designs and applies change management and organizational development strategies that influences and assists organizational change in support of business strategies
  • Facilitate workshops with customers intending to solve for potential challenges or bring awareness to opportunities
  • Assist in driving analytics, project planning and organization in the following areas: organizational change management, workforce planning, organizational planning and talent planning
  • Analyzes trends and metrics, and collaborate with HR functional experts to develop solutions, make recommendations, and develop programs

Required Knowledge / Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • 5+ years previous experience and proven results within HR in a fast paced, high tech or creative environment
  • Demonstrated business acumen and analytical skills
  • Strong compliance knowledge, including federal, state, and local regulations
  • Excellent communication skills and experience working with leaders at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to coach and influence leaders
  • Innovative and creative approach to problem solving
  • Strong intuition and advisory skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to create and foster business relationships with leaders and employees in San Mateo and remote sites
  • High level of initiative and responsiveness with a drive to quickly resolve problems
  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to accomplish objectives with demanding timelines and the ability to multitask on assignments
  • Must be able to work at all levels- strategic, operational, and tactical
  • Strong facilitation skills
  • Travel: approximately 10%



  • Master’s degree or equivalent experience
  • SPHR/PHR or other HR certification
  • Entertainment Industry - especially game industry experience
  • Previous experience supporting remote customer groups
