Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to help bolster the processes, polices and systems that help to make the Company a great place to work. This role will have a direct impact on our ability to successfully and effeicently grow the company. We are looking for a self-starter that will lead the the HR Operations and Total Rewards function. The ideal candidate is a creative problem solver, enjoys a challenge and is passionate about building HR programs aligned with  values and mission. 

You will have the opportunity to build a team with the goal of improving and implementing new processes and policies as  we hed into commericialization. You will work globally with teams from Japan and around the world to drive change.  The Head, HR Operations and Total Rewards is responsible for compensation strategy and administration, HRIS, benefits design and administration, HR processes and policies and related training, employment regulatory compliance and supporting the performance management programs. 
All members of the HR team also take responsibility for leading or participating in projects that span across client groups and specialist functions. 

MAJOR DUTIES OF POSITION:

Compensation 

• Manage and advise on the compensation philosophy and benefits package to maximize our investment and deliver on what our employees value the most
• Ensure salary structures are competitive and aligned with company goals; evaluate jobs for placement in salary structure to ensure internal equity and market competitiveness
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, local and international compensation laws and regulations
• Collaborate and provide internal consulting to senior HR staff and organizational leaders. Partner with senior leadership to clearly communicate compensation programs and procedures.
• Partner with finance, legal, and global HR teams to administer  short and long term incentive programs
• Lead the merit and promotion cycle; provide communications and roll out plans
• Participate with global HR colleagues in strategic compensation review, design, planning and implementation
• Assume a leadership role in HR globalization efforts

Benefits
• Oversee the management, administration and communication of  the company’s benefits program, including benchmarking and review of plan features
• Provide recommendations on plan changes that will build our employee value proposition  
• Oversee the administration of immigration and  host-country expatriates, working closely with parent-company’s/home-country HR representatives 
• Partner with Benefits Broker in negotiating and contracts with benefit plan providers and vendors. Ensure budget analysis and financial modeling, educational materials, andbenefits communication is complete
• Ensure appropriate compliance oversight of the administration of the medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurances, Section 125 cafeteria plan, 401(k) Retirement Plan, employee assistance program

HRIS and Operations
• Partner with HR leadership and  Information Technology to identify, evaluate and select HR Systems, vendors/providers and ensure effective integration with business systems and vendors as needed; supports HRIS conversions 
• Ensure delivery of best practices in the utilization of the company’s HRIS resources that provides meaningful management reporting and effective solutions, partner with cross functional teams to improve processes and implement change
• Review, update, train and counsel management and employees on HR policies, and ensure accurate and timely compliance reporting
• Partner with line management in diagnosing and facilitating the appropriate support needed in achieving their objectives and implementing policies that will help drive organizational excellence and compliance
• Lead the Performance Management Program in the US, while finding ways to improve our performance management tool SuccessFactors
• Assist in M&A planning and integration as required

Skill  Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree required and CCP, CBP or PHR a plus
• Minimum of 10 years of experience and minimum of 2 years of managing exempt level employees
• Experience and proven abilities in plan design and administration of compensation planning and design, benefits, HRIS, pay administration, expat management, and in coaching management and employess in key processes such as performance management and talent selection
• Hay Job Evaluation Methodology
• Implementation of new systems and HR metrics  (experience in ADP ais plus)
• Expert in HR Principles and strong foundation in federal, California and other state employement laws and regulations
• Demonstrated experience in creating an HR Metrics Dashboard and delivering meaningful management reports
• Experienced in process improvement and performance management program and tools
