Our client, a music streaming service is looking for a talented professional and team player to join their Compensation team in a high-level individual contributor role, reporting to the Compensation Director. They enable their business leaders to engage, focus and support the people helping them achieve desired results. They are looking for an “A” player; someone capable of handling a variety of functional responsibilities. They want someone with experience in executive and equity compensation, and a reasonable understanding of broad-based compensation as well. In this role, you will be the principal analyst working with the Sr. Director, C&B, and Director, Compensation, on primarily strategic programs and projects.  On executive compensation matters you may find yourself frequently working directly with the company’s CHRO. You will be helping them design and assess their pay programs at the highest level of the company, and implementing changes. 

The company is committed to continuous process improvement, so you will be asked to take on special high-impact compensation projects.  Those will include large-scale, cross-functional projects, so program management experience is highly desired.  You will interact regularly with Recruiting, HR Business Partner, Legal and Finance teams in a fast-paced and constantly evolving environment. Responsibilities:

  • Analyze various pay program designs and recommend programs that support the company’s executive compensation philosophy
  • Prepare materials for management and Compensation Committee review/approval
  • Manage the equity planning for the Company (determining equity budgets and guidelines, forecasting utilization and managing the monthly grant process)
  • Monitor performance-based vesting metrics for equity awards
  • Prepare communications related to executive and other strategic compensation programs
  • Participate in the preparation of information for the CD&A and annual proxy statement
  • Identify trends in executive, equity and strategic compensation, and recommend changes, as appropriate
  • Participate in executive compensation surveys and provide analysis of competitive positioning
  • Collaborate with Finance, HR, Legal, Accounting, Tax, Stock Admin, and Payroll on executive compensation and equity matters
  • Respond to executive compensation related questions from Recruiters and Executives
  • Assist with the annual and midyear compensation review processes
  • Drive the compensation framework initiative, addressing job architecture (families, levels, titling), career paths and linkage to competencies
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of broad-based compensation programs and drive improvements
  • Perform ad hoc analysis and design recommendations to support pressing business needs
  • Improve compensation understanding among executives through training and developing tools for use in the delivery of compensation programs

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience in Executive Compensation with some exposure to broad-based compensation
  • Technology industry and consulting background preferred
  • Finance, Workday and project management experience are a plus
  • Highly collaborative style and strong team orientation
  • Energetic, self-starter with the ability to successfully manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional knowledge of and capabilities in Excel
  • Demonstrated analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and influencing ability
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • High integrity and ethics in handling confidential information
