Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a creative and innovative Director of Marketing who will develop, lead and drive our overall marketing strategy and execution. Reporting to the President, this marketing thought leader will provide guidance around brand, target audiences, and market research that will drive initiatives to expand the brand and products into the marketplace. The ideal candidate will be an effective collaborator who can lead and influence in driving to a common goal. 

ROLE/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and drive our client's overall marketing strategy and plan that results in higher customer engagement, business growth and profitability.
  • Oversee the development of holistic marketing programs and campaigns across varied platforms, including print, web, email and social media.  Manage and execute the tactical elements, in collaboration with the marketing team, to bring the programs to fruition. 
  • Develop messaging/content for merchandising, brand advertising, and digital platforms.
  • Conduct grassroots market research and extract insights and trends from a wide range of data to inform business decisions and create opportunities for growth, including travel to have an active presence with our wholesale sales team. 
  • Consistently seek out innovative ways to connect with target audiences.
  • Lead all public relations activities and events. 
  • Develop and manage the marketing budget, recommend adjustments to support overall campaigns, and manage expenses in line with the organizational P&L.
  • Work up, down and across the organization to secure alignment and enthusiasm across the company. 
  • Lead, mentor and develop Marketing team employees.  This is a family-owned and operated business; two members of the Marketing team are family-related.

CANDIDATE PROFILE/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA in Marketing preferred
  • 10 years progressive brand marketing experience with demonstrated success in developing and driving marketing strategies/plans at multiple consumer-focused organizations, with strength in digital marketing
  • Multi-channel, direct-to-consumer experience a necessity
  • Ability to operate with an entrepreneurial spirit, positive energy, and a growth mindset
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and interest in developing, mentoring, and motivating a team
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards, with unquestionable integrity
  • Strong ability to manage through ambiguity
